At the National Symposium on Young People's Mental Health, 21st of October2004 in Jury's Hotel, Cork, organised by the National Suicide Research Foundation in conjunction with the National Suicide Review Group and the Southern Health Board, the report on "Young People's Mental Health: A report of the results from the Lifestyle and Coping Survey", was launched by Mr. Tadhg Glavin, Senior Inspector Southern Regional Office, Department of Education and Science.

KMHA Post Primary Schools Leaving Cert Survey

A survey conducted by the Kerry Mental Health Association, in March 2001 among final year Leaving Cert. students, reveals that the students suffer from a considerable amount of stress because of a fear of doing badly in the Leaving Cert. Exam. The survey was carried out in 28 Post Primary Schools throughout Kerry and a total of 1422 students participated.

Stress and Coping among Secondary School Students

In 2001, the Kerry Mental Health Association (KMHA) conducted a quantitative, questionnaire-based study among 1422 leaving certificate students in County Kerry to determine their levels of perceived stress and their methods of coping with stress.
